Welcome to St. Mary’s Café, where we gather as Catholics to open Scripture, share the Good News and discover God’s plan for our lives. Come on in!
Saint Mary’s Café
Imagine having an Advent that is more peaceful, more joyful, and more meaningful than ever before.
Do you want to experience real transformation this Advent? The year, walk with Mary and learn how she prepared to welcome Jesus into her life. Mary’s encounters and experiences as she carried Jesus will shed light on Advent for all of us.
Advent is a special time of year to gain spiritual fruits, particularly peace and joy. A special mediator of these graces is our Blessed Mother Mary. In her humanity, she responded with virtue in a special way when the Lord Jesus entered into her life. Her response teaches us lessons that we can best learn from her in the history of salvation.
Find yourself truly changed as you travel to Christmas Day.
Begin with Rejoice! Meditations with Mary, a prayerful and engaging video retreat here at Saint Mary of Gostyn for all parishioners. Two opportunities here at St. Mary’s:
- Thursday morning at 9:00 am in the Gathering Place
- Tuesday evening 6:30 pm in the Gathering Place
Babysitting will be available, see side RSVP form. Intentionally enter into this season of Advent, with Father Mark Toups and Sister Miriam James as your companions on this journey.
Rejoice! Meditations with Mary continues with weekly email reflections from Father Mark Toups and Ascension Press, if you choose to opt-in. See side form.
Also available is a Rejoice! Meditations with Mary Journal with thought-provoking scripture reflections and beautiful artwork. Each day, in a few short pages, Fr. Toups provides you with aids to help guide your prayer. If you are interested in the journal, order by November 19, see side order form.
- A word - Focus on a single word each day to draw out the details, the specifics of who Our Lady is.
- A reflection - Learn more about Mary, the culture in which she was raised, and the world in which she lived.
- A Psalm - Each day, you’re given a Psalm to pray (just as Mary herself would have prayed) to help you enter into prayer.
- A reading - In reading Scripture, you find the Word of God, bringing you closer to Mary, who carried the Word in her body.
A prompt - Space is provided each day to journal. Record how the Lord is speaking to you this Advent.
