Protection of Children, Youth & Vulnerable Adults

In accordance with the Charter for the Protection of Children and Youth, the Diocese of Joliet has partnered with VIRTUS which is run by The National Catholic Risk Retention Group, Inc. to ensure the safety of our vulnerable populations.

VIRTUS is the brand name that identifies best practices programs designed to help prevent wrongdoing and promote “rightdoing” within religious organizations. The VIRTUS programs empower organizations and people to better control risk and improve the lives of all those who interact with the Church.

Any person who plans to volunteer in any ministry working with minors or vulnerable adults is required to create a VIRTUS account at virtusonline.org and complete the appropriate training and background check before beginning their ministry/volunteer work. Please inform the ministry head of your desire to serve.

If you have any questions regarding the program and your status, please contact Deacon Bob Miciunas in the Parish Office at (630) 737-9637.
