2024-2025 Curriculum Information
St. Mary Religious Education brings the Catholic teachings to children through scripture, prayer, projects and activities. Also included in the St. Mary Religious Education experience is an array of opportunities for the children to live out their faith as a small group, as an individual and in your own Household of Faith.
GRADE 1 – Grade 8
Three sessions of religious instruction are offered in the parish school building for grades K through 8. Parents can choose to register for any session that best fits their schedule. For 2024/25, we are offering grades 1-8 at each session. We are not offering Kindergarten at this time.
Children are assigned to small faith sharing groups and are lead by at least one adult Catechist.
The Religious Education year begins with an Opening Mass and Social in early September and concludes in early May with a Closing Mass. Small groups and room assignments are listed and posted at the social following the Opening Mass.
Home Based Instruction
This option is available for families who choose to teach their children at home during the 3rd through 6th grades. Books and materials are provided through the Religious Education Office and can be picked up at the Social following the Opening Mass in September. Parent and child will be asked to meet with the Religious Education Director periodically throughout the year to discuss their child(ren)’s progress, and to turn in written assignments and/or unit reviews.
Children receiving their instruction at home are encouraged to attend any of the extracurricular events and services that pertain to their respective grade levels.
Call the Director, Jen Liszka at (630) 960-3566 to inquire or register for Home Based Instruction.
