AT ST. MARY OF GOSTYN SCHOOL

Every Gift Matters

St. Mary of Gostyn School is a special place with an extremely talented student population. Our students are both challenged and supported by passionate teachers and staff each and every day so that they may learn, grow and thrive as they continue throughout their journey. SMG is truly a community in which students continue to develop in their academics and their faith. This is truly made possible by all of those who give their time, talents and monetary gifts. Thank you for your continued support of our students, teachers and the future of our school!

School Staff Enrichment Fund

St. Mary’s believes that the success of our School is driven by the partnership of our staff, our students and our school families. With the nationwide shortage of teachers and school staff, coupled with the discrepancies between Public Schools and Catholic Schools pay scales, we have established the School Staff Enrichment Fund (SSEF) as a vehicle to augment the compensation of our School Staff. We are confident that this strategy will help retain our talent as well as attract new hires in the future. Contributions to this fund will be raised in various ways throughout the year and will be restricted for this use. Thank you for your generosity.

True Cost of Education

The average cost to educate a student in 2023-2024 was estimated to be over $7,000. The “Gap” between this cost and tuition charged is made up through direct parish subsidy of approximately $420,000 ($1,400 per student), school fundraisers, and endowment distribution; as well as other unrestricted donations from foundations, matching gifts, and employee giving programs. Family support of our fundraising efforts helps “bridge the gap” between tuition and the real cost of educating your students.

SMG School Endowment

In the early 1990’s, a group of SMG parishioners set forth a long term plan to ensure the future financial stability of the school by creating an Endowment Fund. The Fund’s purpose was to provide an additional source of income to help fund the School’s operating expenses, capital projects, and special needs so that a catholic education could remain affordable for families. Today, funds continue to be raised through the annual dinner dance, the annual parish wide appeal, and direct donations.

Every Child Is Unique

At St. Mary of Gostyn School, we emphasize creativity, critical and analytical thinking and real-world application with a Catholic worldview.
