Overview
Our school offers several programs to help middle school students develop self-confidence, poise and leadership skills that will benefit them in high school and beyond.
Student Council
Student Council is open to students in grades 4-8. The role of president is elected from among the 8th grade students. Vice president, secretary and treasurer are elected from the 7th or 8th grade class. Each grade has a representative that serves on Student Council. The Council works with administration, faculty and other students to organize and host afterschool activities like bowling parties, roller skating parties and service projects. It also operates the student store.
Big Buddy Mentor Program
Each fifth grade student is paired with a kindergarten student. Throughout the year, fifth graders will spend time with their little buddies by taking them to Mass and Stations of the Cross, assisting in classroom art projects and reading, and computer work. This early leadership program teaches our fifth graders how to act as a role model to the younger children in the school.
After School Math Tutoring
Eighth grade students are paired with a student in the primary grades and work one day a week after school with the student, reviewing math concepts selected by the student’s teacher.
