Student Clubs

Overview

Clubs are a great way for our middle school students to get to know their peers outside of the classroom, while exploring a topic or subject that intrigues them.  All of St. Mary’s student clubs meet after school, and our staff serve as club advisors.

Current club list

Coding Club

Students in the club will be use Codesters, a student-friendly website that teaches coding. Codesters uses the Python coding platform (computer programing language) to teach basic interactive graphics, animation, and how to create your own programs, games, simulations, and anything else your imagination dreams up!

Environmental Club
Students in grades 4-8 may participate in the Environmental Club that seeks to make the student body aware of ways to conserve natural resources through recycling.

Geography Club
The Geography Club is open to all students in grades 6-8 who would like to use the internet, maps, questions and games to learn all aspects of the geography of our Earth. They are able to participate in the National Geographic School Bee.

Math Club
The Math Club is open to students in grade 8 who would like math enrichment and to participate in a few math contests hosted at the neighboring high schools during the year.

Stratagem Club
Stratagem is open to students in grades 6-8 and is designed to provide your child with an opportunity to challenge themselves in intellectual games such as Chess. The format for the Club will be a competitive setup. Students will be introduced to the basic rules of the game, strategies to outwit their opponents, and sportsmanship. Our philosophy towards the game of Chess is to always be humble in victory and gracious in defeat.  Chess is a great way to encourage strategic thinking, planning, and decision making skills.

Students for Life
