A Letter from the Pastor
Dear St. Mary of Gostyn Parishioner,
Our Parish School, in its 120+ years of operation, has provided a wonderful, faith filled education for its students. We have been blessed with many Parishioners, School Families and outside donors along the way who continue to make a Catholic education possible for our students.
Over time, our School facility has adapted to meet the needs of our children and staff. However, recently, we have identified a great need for a multi-purpose space to house our students for various activities: well supervised central eating space for lunch, small group educational activities, extra-curricular group activities, etc. Short term, we have been able to use our Parish Gathering Place for some of this need, but it is not a permanent solution. We also have outgrown our current elementary sized gym space and need to make room for a full sized junior high gymnasium.
We are blessed as a Parish with many active, vibrant Ministries that meet on our campus throughout the week. We continue to juggle all the requests for meeting spaces for these groups, which is a huge challenge in the fall and spring season for the Gathering Place. A new, large meeting place would help us meet the needs of these groups.
We feel that the time is now right to raise the funds to expand our current gym space to accommodate both our Parish and our School goals. We are aptly referring to this Activity Center in our early stages as “A Place Where All Are Welcome”, since it will be the gathering space for various types of activities.
Please review the materials below that will further explain what this project will entail. Prayerfully consider how you can help us with this project. I know that you believe, as I do, in the importance of a Catholic education for our children, in a safe environment, within which they can flourish. Help us create “A Place Where All Are Welcome”, as we continue to make our School sustainable for the next generations of our children, while providing additional new meeting space for our Parish.
Sincerely yours in Christ,
Reverend James A. Schwab
