School Endowment Fund

In the early 1990s, a dedicated group of St. Mary of Gostyn parishioners envisioned a way to help secure the long-term financial stability of our parish school. Through their generosity and commitment, the St. Mary of Gostyn Endowment Fund was established to provide a lasting source of support for Catholic education for generations to come.

The purpose of the Endowment Fund is to provide additional financial resources to assist with school operating expenses, capital improvements, and special needs, helping ensure that a St. Mary of Gostyn Catholic education remains accessible and affordable for families in our community.

Over the years, the Endowment Fund has grown through the generosity of our parishioners and supporters through the annual dinner dance, parish-wide appeals, and individual donations. Each contribution helps strengthen the future of our school and supports our mission of providing an exceptional Catholic education rooted in faith and service.

Beginning in 2010, a Diocesan Fund Board was established to oversee approximately 50 endowment funds throughout the Diocese of Joliet. In accordance with the Diocesan distribution policy, up to 4% of the fund’s three-year average market value may be distributed annually to support school operating expenses. An additional 1% may be made available for capital projects or special needs.
